"Das Album von Raunchy namens "Wasteland
Discotheque" war einer meiner Highlights würde ich sagen. Vom Anfang
bis zum Ende, jeder einzelne Song ist ein absoluter Ohrwurm. Besonders gut
gelungen ist der Coversong somebodys watching me. Ein Hammer Album, für
mich das Highlight 2008!"

"Mein Favorit ist ganz klar BLACK ICE von AC/DC. Das lange Warten hat sich gelohnt. Gewohnt gradlinig und solid -
einfach Hammer. Als Dessert gibt es noch die Tour 2009."

"Royal Hunt "Collision Course (ParadoxII).
From the first time I heard them, Royal Hunt has been my favorite band. To
me their music always sounds "Epic" and "Majestic".
Collision Course is their 10th studio release and first with new singer
Mark Boals. A concept album which includes guest vocalist's Ian Parry,
Doogie White, Kenny Lubcke and Henrik Brockmann. A great new album with a
new great singer.
Axel Rudi Pell "Tales Of The Crown". For me a great Metal/Rock
CD always has to have a heavy guitar sound. I want to feel the music
through the guitar. Axel Rudi Pell is an artist that ALWAYS makes me want
more. I wasnt impressed with "Mystica" from 2006. But, I think
Tales Of The Crown is his best in Many Many Years. With Johnny Gioeli on
vocals and Axel's on fire guitar riffs Tales Of The Crown. Im a happy
headbanger!!
JORN. If you know Rock, If you know REAL Rock, you know that name. There
IS only one JORN. Its been 10 years since I was introduces to Jorn Lande.
I have almost everything he has done. Like any artist, some albums I like
better than others. BUT...I Love ALL his music. Jorn, IF you know him you
know he has many hats. He has been in/with many bands and artists. He is a
a versitile master of his craft! His latest "Lonely Are The
Brave" is his 7th solo release. Its a kick ass rocker from begining
to end. For me, not one bad song. Long Live King JORN!!"

"There were
a few records that caught my ear in 2008. In my opinion, two of those,
Machinehead's The Blackening and Norma Jean's The Antimother made the most
impact, because they marked the best records that these two bands have
ever made. There is a sense of honesty to each record not heard before in
each band's history. The Blackening hits you with a dark heaviness that is
regally contradicted by Robb Flynn's dynamic voice, leaving it's listener
in an epic swell of emotion. In Norma Jean's The Antimother, even with the
heavy use of metaphors, the lyrics seem to be less cryptic. The message
clearly heard. The music follows in this path of sonic directness. It
varies from some of the heaviest ever written by the band to the most
melodic and ambient. A long six month writing process with producer Ross
Robinson proved to be a catalyst for the five piece to break down their
own emotional barriers and translate those feelings through sound.
Vulnerability, strength, strife, anger... a plethora of emotion hits you
in the chest from the first song, "Vipers, Snakes and Actors",
and remains pounding there through the epic bass line grounding "And
There Will Be A Swarm of Hornets" until its final ambient chord."

"Metallica, It has their early sound to it
but more technical. Sort of old school meets today. But this could change
when I sit and think about it longer. I recently bought the new Metallica
and it just happens to be fresh in my mind and in my cd player!"

"Nickelback "Dark Horse". The
album was well produced (even the non-Mutt Lange tracks), and every song
on that album is a potential hit. But at the same time the tunes might be
hit worthy, but are heavy enough to be played on harder edged stations (like
Stickman Radio). Every song is fantastic. Nickelback is one of the few
bands in my opinion that kept the banner of a traditional hard rock/metal
band alive in the current era.
Also, Tesla's "Forever More". Tesla returned in 2008 with their
signature sound with a modern vibe to it, but doesn't forget where they
came from. This is a terrific hard rock album for their fans and for
people just getting into the band. One of my favorite and most played
albums of the year.
And my third favorite album of the year is: Def Leppard "Songs From
The Sparkle Lounge". Yeah, I know this might not be the Def Leppard
from the 80's "High 'N' Dry" or "Pyromania" era, hell
it isn't even the "Hysteria" style Def Leppard, but it is still
a true Leppard record. The songs are very modern and upbeat. Short and
rock your socks off. Influences from their 70's cover album "Yeah!"
can be felt on "...Sparkle Lounge". But at the same time, the
songs might be great but is missing that bombastic Leppard sound. It is a
shame that radio didn't pick up the obvious singles off the album, like 'C'mom,
C'mon', which if played on FM radio could have really pushed the album
into higher sales units. People may not like the direction Def Leppard
goes in ever since "Hysteria", but why can't they try to grow
and spread their wings into different styles like everyone else does.
"..Sparkle Lounge" is well worth being on your shelf for any Def
Leppard fan new and old."

"Als Motörhead Fan ist für mich 2008
ganz klar Motörizer ein absoluter Knaller gewesen.Die Studioalben von Motörhead
waren in der Vergangenheit immer etwas "halbbatzig",aber ich
finde seit "Inferno" werden sie immer besser.Vor allem Tracks
wie "Rock out" ist für mich ein typischer Motörhead-Knaller!!
Und live sind die Herren nach wie vor der Hammer! Ebenfalls waren "Death
Magnetic" von Metallica und Iced Earth mit "The Crucible of
Man" absolute Top CDs im Rock/Metal Bereich...."
