Nachdem mir die Band von einem Hörer auf Stickman Radio wärmstens empfohlen wurde, hab ich mir mal die Songs auf ihrer Myspace-Seite angehört. Weil dies wirklich interessant klang, habe ich mir dann die CD gleich auf ihrer Homepage bestellt. Snew´s Musikstil würde ich als eine Mischung aus Airbourne, AC/DC, Rhino Bucket, Jackyl, Dirty Looks und etwas Krokus bezeichnen. Mit einer geilen Rock-Hymne namens „Stand Up High“ starten Snew in ihr Debüt. „Got Love“ ist ein  Stampfer, bei dem sich Sänger Curtis Don Vito beim Gesang immer mehr hineinsteigert. Der starke Titeltrack „Snew You“ und „She´s A Real Gunslinger“ grooven recht ab. „Kick Me Over“ ist eine Art ziemlich schnell gespielter "Dirty Looks"-Song und er wird auch rauher gesungen als bei den Kanadiern. „Head Trauma“ erinnert sofort an AC/DC und dort vor allem an „Ride On“. „Electric Is The Law“ und „Get It To Go“ bestechen neben dem abermals starken Gesang durch geile Riffs. „Vibrator“ ist der ruhigste Track des Albums, hat aber wie schon alle Stücke einen tollen Rhythmus und fällt keinesfalls ab. Mit dem zügigen „Heavy Water“ wird das starke Debüt abgeschlossen. Ich muss ehrlich gestehen, je mehr ich das Album anhöre, umso besser gefällt es mir und braucht sich vor dem letztens erschienen  The Answer-Silberling nicht zu verstecken. 7 Fragen an Curtis Don Vito

Tell us about the band line-up and how the band was founded?

Andy and I (Curtis) met through a friend and after one meeting we knew we would make great music together so Andy called his friend Cat and I called my friend Mark and we told them they we going to be in a new band called Snew. The rest is history.

Is there any message behind your song?

The only message we have is SNEW YOU which means love life, love yourself and just ROCK. It might mean a few other things too but you have to figure that out for yourself.

Tell us about the bands low- and highlights...

The highlights are when we are playing in front of people we can Snew the hell out of and when we record and when we rehearse, basically anytime we get the chance to make music. That's the highlight for us. It's also very cool how much people around the world have taken such an interest in us and our music. We love it when people say Snew You. For some reason people love saying it. The only low point is when we are not playing, so we keep that to a minimum.

What do you expect from the bands future ?

We plan on touring this summer. We are booking shows right now for a USA tour. We hope to follow that with a tour of Europe. We are also making preparations for our next album. We hope to start recording that in the late spring.

Any funny or painful band storie?

 We ran a contest in October last year called the Snewed Tomatoes contest. We gave away a custom Snew You guitar to the winner. In the contest people had to enter in artwork that used the name Snew in a fictional product. We got some very funny and interesting submissions like Snewper Glue, Fig Snewtons, Top Snewman Snewdles, Snew Condoms, MetaSnewcil, Absolute Snew vodka and the winner was Mountain Snew and it looked just like the advertisement for Mountain Dew soda. It was really a fun thing to do. Maybe we'll do another contest like that some day.

What about concerts? Any plans to play in switzerland?

We do hope to tour Europe soon. We have lots of fans in Germany, Spain, Italy and England. Maybe you can help us get more fans in Switzerland. We would LOVE to play there. I hear there are lots of real rock fans out there.
