Hi Anthony. It's now about 3 Months ago since I wrote the album review. What happened in the New Soul Cowboys Camp since then?

Thanks for the interview Patrick.  We've have a lot of cool things happening for the band in the US right now and we're excited.  Some cool business developments and we are riding a creative high.

Tell us a little bit about the band members.

The three of us are like long lost brothers.  We all bring something different to the mix and it makes the music very strong.  We all sing and it's exciting to do three part harmonies live.  David plays bass and Peter is on drums.  They both kick serious ass on their instruments.  Prior to NSC they both did a lot of touring and session work

What makes Nashville so special for the musicans?

It is the community of musicians that makes it special.  You have a place where people share ideas and grow.  And, when you see that kind of talent, it forces you to grow.  There is also the legacy of it all.  The incredible artists that came before you.  They cast a long shadow.

What was the first concert you attended?

Ronnie James Dio

Tell me what kind of kid were you in school?

I was a very good student but I had a wild side because I played in a band.  I enjoyed those days and had a lot of friends.  I did like to play some practical jokes on my teachers.  In all seriousness, I had a great experience during those years thanks to the many great teachers I had.

Any plans for concerts in Europe?

I would love to play in Europe with NSC, but there are no plans yet.

Are there any plans for a new CD and did you find a record label?

Right now we are still in the process of finding the right home for our debut CD.  We have written many new songs - we are very excited for the future.

Any favourite track on the album and why?

I like Painted Horse because it is a rocker.  Also, it captures the mission statement of the band.  Blending blues rock and outlaw country together as one.  It is also a metaphor for humanity.

Do you have a favourite singer?

Etta James, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke

What is your favourite track to play LIVE?

I love to play Rebel Highway because the vocal harmonies sound huge.

Tell us any highlights or painful stories from your Tour/shows?

Having Eric Clapton or Gretchen Wilson come to see us play.  Getting to share the stage with BB King, Big and Rich, Buddy Guy and James Otto.

Tell us for which band you would love to do the opening act?

I think this band would do very well with Lynyrd Skynyrd or Kid Rock.

What was the last CD you listened to?

Jason Aldean's Wide Open.  My CD collection is very diverse, so there's a ton of stuff with many different styles.

How do you spend your time when you have no concerts to play?

I do about 200 shows a year.  When I am not playing, I try to do everyday things and catch up with friends and family.

Do you make sport?

We are getting into golf.  I am a tennis nut - I play pretty regularly.

Let’s talk a bit about the music biz… What do you think personally about the whole download-thing?

The bad thing about downloading is that it has devalued the worth of music.  People expect to get their music for free.  Also, MP3 quality is seriously lacking.  The great thing is that people have access to all this great music.  Sometimes it is a little overwhelming

In our QUESTION PIT section at medazzarock.ch we’re actually asking how important myspace for a musician really is…. Your opinion?

It is an important tool.  Most people go to myspace instead of the band's website because they know how to navigate it.  You still have to direct people there.  They have to discover you to get there.  Lately, it seems to be not as popular as it was a couple of years ago

Can you spend a living from your music?

Yes.  We are very fortunate to be able to live well doing what we love.

What are the future plans for New Soul Cowboys?

To keep getting bigger and better.

At the end of our interview we sometimes have some kind of a game. I´ll give you some words and you tell us what comes to your mind…

Switzerland:  Beautiful

Nashville:  Music City

Barack Obama: Can he deliver universal health care?

God:  Love

Family:  To be there for each other

War:  Failure

Internet: Information

Money:  One of many kinds of wealth

Holiday:  The beach

Well that´s it... Any final words to our readers?

Just to say thank you for their time and that we hope to play for them in Europe sometime soon
